Love the look of the place very much modern
Michelle is a star - warm and welcoming upon check-in. Great recommendations of the area and what would be great for the evening. She definitely deserves a raise.
The bed was comfy and the bathrooms were huge. The air conditioning worked a treat.
We stayed in King Room facing the road. No road noise - a lot of ambient light due to the sign but the curtains blocked it out.
Surrounded by 2 acres of gardens, the 5-star Lilianfels Blue Mountains Resort & Spa is a grand country house providing luxurious accommodations in the Blue Mountains.

In the heart of the Blue Mountains with lots of eating options. Lots of great walks nearby. The 3 sisters are within walking distance so you can avoid the parking charges recently implemented in the area.

Katoomba main street is still struggling after covid with quite a few empty shop fronts however mother nature and her spectacular views make up for this. Scenic World as the main draw is always worth the trip and Nocturnal event is a new way to experience the Valley. Of course Echo Point and 3 sisters are a must as is Govetts Leap lookout. So many pretty towns around like Leura and if you have time take a little side teip to Lithgow. Highly recommend this trip. Parking is an issue around the town centre and usual tourist attractions but worth dealing with anyway.

Direct train from Sydney.
Direct train from Sydney. Very quaint traditional old mining town, old fashioned 'high street' with plenty of places to stay and eat. We stayed in the grand Carrington Hotel which has a lot of history as part of the evolution of the town. Our main reason for visiting was to easily access the Katoomba based hop-on/off bus to visit The Blue Mountains. This worked perfectly and as well as seeing Katoomba and the blue Mountains, we also got to visit the pretty neighbouring village of Leura which is included in the route. We felt we made a very good choice.

Katoomba has everything you will need or find in a regional town. The large supermarkets are available and open for longer hours for groceries (Aldi, Coles, Woolworths). The shops and restaurants close early, so check times and organise around that. There are limited number of restaurants and eateries in town. We ate at Rustico - this place is almost always full (even on weekdays) - best book ahead. We had one sunny day out of 3 days. Luckily that was enough to visit Scenic World, do the rides and walk around. We recommend taking the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus (hop-on hop-off) to minimise driving. There are many easy to medium walks along the clifftops.

The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent.
The new Cliff Top walk to Wentworth Falls was excellent. Just right level for me. It would be good if the shuttle buses went to Gordon Falls and Leura as I had to walk back along the roads a lot. Also access to the walk at Scenic World was closed, which was annoying as the walk is advertised to start there. It was Easter Sunday and very busy but this should have been made clear perhaps with signs at Katoomba Falls where the walk actually started from. I ate at 8 Things, great value and the RSL which was not so great. The Pool of Siloam is one of the best things in the mountains I discovered this weekend.

The town is lovely, great places to eat and drink, lots of attractions and view points, short drives to many other places. I really enjoyed it. One thing i would mention, as we were caught out with this, the whole town stops serving food at 8pm, so you do have to choose between watching the sunset and eating.
Beds were comfortable. Aldi Coles and Woolworths across the road. Easy access to major attractions. Staff were friendly . We did not expect to have 5 star hotel accommodation for that price, as long as the place is clean and the beds comfortable and the price is right we are happy .This hotel ticked all the boxes. and the staff were helpful and friendly . I recommend the breakfast its worth it. Thank you for making our stay memorable as we were stuck in NSW from Perth and decided to take a trip to the Blue mountains
Excellent Location, ease of access to the main town of Katoomba and ECHO POINT, the tree sisters viewing vista
You could not ask for a better location in regards to the main tourist attraction and experience in the Blue Mountains
The Showers were the Best and Tv had some Smart features included, all the 21st century touches you want. stayed with family, room Has a fridge Tea coffee and glasses for our champagne drink *(staying for a birthday celebration with family from overseas in Ireland
The location is excellent. When in the house it seems like you are really isolated but you're actually quite close to Katoomba. The view is sensational & the large deck in good weather made the view central to our stay. The 3 friends I stayed with regarded the bath to be the best bath they had ever had in their lives. Not being a bath person I really rated the rain shower in the laundry. The house was clean & has everything you need. I would not hesitate to recommend it or to stay there again.
The hotel is in a good location close to the town center and shops and restaurants. The room was clean and comfortable and had a fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. We booked the breakfast and it was good value at A$15 each. It is a buffet breakfast so you can have what you want and there was a good selection of hot and cold items. We enjoyed our stay here.
Comfortable and charming hotel in Katoomba. Great location near Echo Point. They kindly accommodated our request for ground floor rooms for my elderly parents and ourselves. Enjoyed the food and service at Lounge restaurant. Usually ample parking available for guests, both at open lots and underground garage (although both were full on Good Friday).
The hotel is ideally located close to Katoomba railway station. The bed was very comfortable and the shower good. The room was clean with tea/coffee/milk and kettle. We advised we would be arriving late and received helpful information via booking.com the necessary codes for collecting keys and gaining access. All worked extremely well.
The Carrington is in a perfect position, right in the heart of Katoomba and the Blue Mountains and is easy walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops etc.
The hotel is an experience in itself and gives a glimpse into the past that not many would have had exposure too.
I could not fault the staff, food or facilities in any way.
We really enjoyed the property….so close to light hiking and downtown. Plenty of hikes to enjoy. The breakfast room was just right for us and Daniel was wonderful……fun and full of information and recommendations. He is definitely a plus for the hotel. Thanks so much to him!!❤️
This place is hidden treasure .. lovely old heritage hotel with a very cosy character at a very affordable price .I loved the decor of this place with amazing paper walls and old sofas and tables .It is very lovely place with the breakfast and friendly staff .
The view from the room was superb, unblocked views of the mountains from both inside the room and out on the balcony! Also a bonus to have access to its sister hotel Lilianfels facilities and amenities, loved the heated indoor pool :)
Hotel staff are nothing short of amazing. Friendly, helpfull, respectful, and they treat their guests like family, and they do it naturly not because they are following a protocol. I loved the hotel because of the people running it.
The Hotel Blue and Cottages in Katoomba is charming and welcoming. The staff went out of their way to help us out. The hot water and water pressure of the shower were fantastic. The breakfast was simple and good.
The outlook from the room was great as was the size of the room. The hotel was also perfectly placed for a short walk into the main shopping streets. We even took a longer walk to Katoomba Falls.
Lovely old fashioned hotel on the main street in Katoomba. Pleasant staff, comfy well equipped rooms. Great location. Much better than the photos make it seem. Would recommend.
The location is close to Katoomba Train Station only 5 min walk, many restaurants nearby and Coles. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable. The staffs are nice and helpful.
